Hi! I'm Josh
I'm a solutions-driven front-end developer with over 6 years commercial experience, based in Brisbane. I am currently seeking and welcoming opportunities to be part of a team that is working to make a positive difference in the world, and especially those working on solutions to address the climate crisis.
My Passion
I love solving problems. Having a vision for a great user interface and seeing that vision come to life as I write clean, readable code and eliminate bugs never ceases to give me a sense of accomplishment and joy. I enjoy the challenge of finding the most efficient and maintainable approach to an issue and refactoring code.
I'm most proficient with Vue 2 & 3 and AngularJS, though I'm also confident with Angular 2+. I'm currently teaching myself React (this portfolio was built with Next.js!), and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to expand these skills in a team environment.
My Purpose
While I enjoy solving problems and challenges with software, I'm also driven to solve problems in the world and help make it a better place for people and planet. After seeing the impact climate change was having on our planet, our country, and the people living here, I was inspired to enrol in a Graduate Certificate of Climate Change Adaptation to explore potential career pathways. I'm now looking for a position that allows me to combine my passion for software development with my desire to help tackle the climate crisis.
